Oracle Applications

With more than 370,000 customers, including 100 of the Fortune 100, and representing a variety of industries in more than 145 countries, Oracle is one of the largest software companies in the world.

It is a leading provider of ERP software with its stable of products, incorporating the Oracle eBusiness Suite, PeopleSoft Enterprise Applications, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, Siebel and the recently launched Oracle Fusion Applications.

The Oracle eBusiness Applications Suite is a sophisticated ERP solution providing functionality across Financials, Supply Chain, Procurement, HR, Projects, Manufacturing, and CRM. At its core is a robust and highly scalable financial system, and in recent years it has typically been the underpinning technology platform to enable full scale finance transformation, such as global process standardisation, new operating model implementation such as shared services, and to support Finance’s shift in focus from that of, custodian of the numbers, to one of business partnering. The latest release is Oracle eBusiness Suite 12.1.

Oracle Peoplesoft

PeopleSoft has been an eminent ERP product for many years with its HR functionality in particular being a mainstay for a huge number of clients globally. The latest version is release 9.1 and incorporates 1350 new features and 200 industry specific enhancements. It is the third upgrade since Oracle Corporation acquired PeopleSoft in 2005.

JD Edwards was founded in 1977 and became a global force in ERP during the late 80’s and 90’s; with particular strengths in process industries and distribution. In 2003 the company was acquired by PeopleSoft which in turn was acquired by Oracle in 2005. The latest version is release 9.0 1.

Oracle Fusion Applications were launched in the autumn of 2010. Developed from the ground up, this is based on a common data model and service-oriented-architecture approach. The suite provides integrated functionality across Financials, HR, CRM, Projects, etc and follows a role based user format. The Financial suite incorporates Fusion Accounting Hub which is designed to integrate easily with third-party industry specific applications and allows customers to report simultaneously across different regulatory formats.

SystemsAccountants has focused on the provision of contractors and permanent staff skilled in the Oracle family of ERP solutions since 2001, having undertaken over 500 Oracle, PeopleSoft and JD Edwards recruitment assignments during this time.

The role of SystemsAccountants has been to act as a conduit to access the best available independent and interim resource to deliver services to each programme, such as: programme management; QA; PMO; Enterprise Architecture, Oracle design, build, test & deployment; change & communications; process & shared services design; knowledge transfer; and transition management.

Our specific expertise is in the Financials domain, and we have significant experience in qualifying candidates with a blend of accounting discipline and deep SME in the financial modules of the Oracle toolsets, such as GL, AP, AR, FA, PA, Treasury, Cash, i-proc, etc.

One of the largest Oracle programmes we partnered with was Orange Business Services’ Finance transformation programme to which we provided over 30 Oracle Financials skilled contractors and permanent hires. Orange engaged SystemsAccountants to provide:

A Programme Director to scope plan and deliver the ERP Project and manage the Systems Integrator.

A mixed team of permanent and contract resource to support the design and deployment programme across the following Oracle modules:

  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Cash Management
  • Fixed Assets
  • Reporting
  • Project Accounting
  • Resources to lead and deploy Business Intelligence, Global Consolidation System and Essbase.

We also mobilised a team of 50 contractors to deliver programme management, PMO, functional configuration, technical development, data migration, Change & Communications services on the implementation of PeopleSoft Financials at a major media group. The PeopleSoft solution underpinned new financial processes and supported the creation of a financial shared service centre to serve the Group’s UK operations.

So, what do we do?

We are the UK’s leading finance systems recruitment company.

Unlike the vast majority of recruitment companies we are not built on a sales culture. We are wholly service and solutions focused. In fact in many instances our services are more akin to a hybrid mix of recruitment and consultancy.

This is because the vast majority of finance systems work is project related, such as upgrade and development initiatives. Indeed the replacement or implementation of new finance systems, ERP or BI tools will normally be driven by a business need for operational improvements and by definition change. Such change projects typically incorporate process standardisation / automation, shared services creation, or MI transformation such as data governance implementation and enterprise BI architecture.
